TODAYS GENERATION must have been wandering…. How we, the pioneers of the Filipino community in The Netherlands during the 60s thru the 90s managed to live, communicate with each other, organize events…etc… with the absence of Cell(smart)Phones, Email messages, Facebook, Messengers, Whatsapp, Viber ….etc.

Well, … we managed…flourished with, at that time, with just one mode of communication… old fashion telephone, dialing the phone number,  augmented by the Fax machine, and the classic Filipino tradition … ”Paki sabi na rin po kay …”.

 

Eddie Flores, while clearing their attic of clutters, came across a pile of old photos. Indeed old photos and turned out to be a clutter of treasures …. photos of the pioneers of the Filipino community in The Netherlands dating from 1947… and from June 1988, when Munting Nayon published its first (hardcopy) edition.

 

MN stopped its hardcopy monthly publication in 2011.

In 2007, MN posted its first digital version muntingnayon.com .

Most of the photos were taken by Eddie Flores, Editor of Munting Nayon News Magazine.
