OFW win International Singing Competition

London – Jeffrey Almendras was declared as the 3rd place winner in the “Stars of the Albion” at the 7th International Performing Arts Festival and Competition in London which was held last February 28 to March 1, 2020. He represented Saudi Arabia’s Team for the Filipino Community. There were 20 countries participating in the festival.
Almendras is presently residing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and is currently working as Executive Assistant in one of the country’s leading companies. He is the founder and president of Asosasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-aawit – APM (association for Filipino singers). A Producer and Director of Bagong Kampeon, Voice of Riyadh and Voice Circle Talents Center.
Almendras sang “Never Ever Say Goodbye” during the International contest, an Original Pilipino Music composed by Willy Cruz which was recognized and appreciated by the panel of judges, one of them is Mr. Ron Tom, a legendary producer/manager of Sugarbabes, All Saints, Mark Morris, Sinead O’Connor and other famous artists in the United Kingdom. Mr. Tom admired that Almendras has a soulful voice and the control of his voice is amazing.
Jeff Almendras was born in Ozamiz City, was raised in Cebu and moved to Manila during his high school & college education. He took up his voice culture at UP Diliman, a member of PSBA Business Choral group, Love Flock Music Ministry and freelance singer in the Philippines.
Almendras’ advice to the aspiring singers to share their talents and continue singing whether they are old or young. Just keep on going, there is no age limit in singing. He pointed out that singing for him can relieve stress, give you peace of mind and happiness in life.
