DEAR FELLOW FILIPINO CANADIANS AND KABABAYANS,
Mabuhay ! Greetings!
For all Canadians across the country, the coming federal election on October 21, 2019, will mean a lot. We know and feel that "different things" will happen after elections. Voters like us, at this critical point in time, will exercise their constitutional right and have to decide and choose their candidates and eventually, the winners will form a government to lead and serve us...the people, for the next four years.
As part of the democratic process, the upcoming election will provide us with the right to choose and select the "best people for the job". This election will help us think and form many ideas and arguments about politics. policies, principles, and promises of the candidates and their political parties. Along the process, we could be weighing and hoping for "something to come up good" for ourselves, for our family and for our community. On the other side, we could be thinking about the whole country, its progress and its development and our future.
The federal election, as a continuing political exercise, will also provide us as citizen voters the opportunity to debate and argue of what we understand and believe in the platforms, plans and promises of the political parties and their candidates. But what is most important, is to decide what matters most to us and to other people in our community, especially the Filipino Canadian community.
Likewise, it is very paramount that it will be a great opportunity to tell your chosen candidates and their leaders what those continuing issues and concerns are in the community and what directions or changes you would like to see happen after electing them. Further, this election is not only a political event but also both an individual and collective decision -making action and an opportunity as well, to critically think and attentively listen about promises being promoted and policies being proposed.
We really, really need to engage with our fellow voters... our kababayans and possibly, with all political candidates, if what we believe and hope that democracy is one institution and instrument of true representation of the will of the people. Exercise your right to vote. If you don't vote, your voice will not be heard. Do not complain later.
DO YOUR PART! VOTE WISELY!
Maraming Salamat,
