BISAYANG DAKO SA NETHERLANDS’ Summer Party 2019 bursting with laughter, fun and a lot of sweat !!!

Angel Axinto
October 10, 2019
Spijkenisse, The Netherlands

Food, friends, fun – three essential elements of every Bisayang Dako Sa Netherlands (BISDAK) party. It is the tradition of every BISDAK party to make sure that there is a lot of food for the guests. And one could be rest assured - every recipe is cooked with a tremendous dose of love.

A sumptuous Filipino buffet to start the evening with.

The weather in the Netherlands is so unpredictable. At times we get four different weathers in one day  –  sun, rain, hail and snow! Needless to say, one has to be prepared for whatever falls from heaven.

Last September 28, 2019, during BISDAK’s late summer party was no exception. The day started with the sun brightly shining, birds were singing, people walking on t-shirts….in short- a lovely warm sunny summers’ day. Yet as the night approaches it started to rain….and all of a sudden it rained cats and dogs!

But that does not stop us from partying, no no sir. We have prepared for this, we are ready for this and we will party with friends come hell or high water!

Guests get a warm VIP welcome by BISDAK’s Nanelia Perocho who pins ribbons on their blouses/shirts.

Beautiful smiles greeted the visitors at the entrance of Wijkcentrum the Akkers in Spijkenisse.  Every guest is pinned with a Bisdak ribbon that accentuates their party dresses. The sight and smell of the Filipino buffet displayed on the table is undeniably very tempting.  A few minutes after 6:00 o’clock, everybody gathered around the buffet table and after a short prayer led by BISDAK president Flora Schuijt, the dinner begins.

Paul and Hans of Asian Beat provided the non-stop music.

The music was irresistible and yet so was the food! There is so much mouth watering cuisine to sink your teeth in. For the weak in heart, this is one very difficult decision.

The party center is divided into two separate halls. The dining and the disco area. One could peacefully enjoy and savor their meal at the dining area. Yet some would prefer to bring their plates inside the dance hall where they could leave their food as they dance and come back to finish it. After all, the stumping of the disco beat is so enticing everybody is tempted to hit the dance floor!

Lovely ladies of the Filipino Catholic Community of Dordrecht (FCCD Dordrect) gracefully danced during their surprise performance.

Spicing out  the evenings disco was the surprise number rendered by the ladies of FCCD Dordrecht.  Charming in their pink blouses and sexy checkered skirts they captivated the crowd as they elegantly swayed on the dancefloor. They were astounding!

Guests could also shop at the NWorld skin care products, Beauties Choice Make-up, Jewelries, bags, shoes and of course at the vast variety of Filipino dry goods.

(Top photos L-R): NWorld Skin care products by Avi and Lourdes;  Mary J Tayem of Beauties Choice applying make-up to Hb Bayan Ko Buhat ko who’s products were silver jewelries, leather shoes and bags;  Phinoy Toko and Asian Products by Violeta Mendiola Anuno (here shown with her man to her right and Bisdak coordinator Jessica Niday to her left).

The force behind BISAYANG DAKO SA NETHERLANDS: Angel Axinto, Nazaria Dequito, Eda Liauw Sinajon, Flora Schuijt, Mherzy van der Steen-Gemarino, Jessica Niday-Jacomilla, Nanellia Vissers-Perocho, Jecay Cultura Ligan and Zaldy Niday.

It was another fantastic party where everybody enjoyed the food, the good company and the great music. Everybody was on high spirits and went home satisfied.

BISDAK would thank our friends, families and guests who joined and partied with us. We truly appreciate your support in our endeavor in creating small scale projects back home.

until the next party …………………………………………………..

Thank you so very much!  Daghang salamat kaninyong tanan!
