The Philippine Teachers Association of Canada-PTAC will conduct 3 major events during the last quarter of 2019. During its meeting of senior officers in August 2019  the 13- year social- professional educators organization has decided to offer and wind down the year with meaningful and engaging professional development and fellowship activities for its members and their families and friends.

PTAC, an Ontario-based registered non- profit & volunteer-run association, is composed of Filipino Canadians who are provincially licenced practising teachers and educational assistants in various publicly funded school boards and private & independent educational institutions in Canada's largest province. Many PTAC members are also former Philippine-trained educators who are Professional Regulation Commission - PRC certified and experienced professionals of various teaching specializations in the home country.

On October 5, 2019( Saturday) from 1:00-4:00 pm., PTAC will hold a "Book Writing & Art Workshop"  at the Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Function Room 4, 2565 Bathurst Street, Toronto. Dr. Mila Philipzig of Alberta was invited as the professional resource presenter. The 3- hour activity is aimed at providing information and guiding teachers and participants in developing writing skills and strategies in preparing art-focused books and learning materials.

The organization, as a matter of mission since its inception in 2006, will organize and sponsor its "10th Annual Teacher Conference" on November 2, 2019, Sunday, from 9:30 am. to 4:30 pm. at the Members Lounge of the North York Civic Centre, 5100 Yonge Street, North York. Invited to be the main speaker is Dr. Michael Salvatori, Registrar and CEO of the Ontario College of Teachers, the province's regulatory body for teaching professionals.

Dr. M. Salvatori is expected to share information and insights on current regulations on teacher certification as well as important policies and practices on student safety and well-being in schools. Other experienced education professionals and practitioners were invited to join in the Panel Discussions on teaching-related and student engagements topics. The participants will also do networking and exchanges on school-based experiences, professional certification applications, and employment challenges.

To celebrate the regular Christian holiday season, PTAC will have its "2019 Christmas Get-together" on December 7, 2019, Saturday, 12:00 - 5:00 pm. at the Earl Bales Park Community Centre social hall, 4165 Street, North York, Toronto. Expected to attend the festive event are  PTAC officers and members together with their families, friends, relatives and guests. Organizing and Working Committees were appointed and assigned to handle the preparation and operation of the 3 events.
