FilCan Lovely Couple Celebrates Golden Nuptial Milestone

Fifty years of true love! 50 years in a shared covenant, contract and commitment of lifelong relationship "in sickness and in health.....in good times and bad times". It is really golden.....a cherished golden celebration, indeed. Yes, folks and friends. Eleuterio Gumban Acuna, Jr. and Imelda Maun- Acuna happily commemorated their wedding anniversary on September 7, 2019.



The lovely couple renewed their "I Do" vows witnessed by their immediate family, relatives, friends and guests and duly officiated by Pastor Ross Corcuera of the Jesus First Ministries-GTA, Canada.



Terry and Mhel, who both hailed from Metro Manila and are now permanent residents of Scarborough, Ontario, Canada since 1994, received and welcomed their enthusiastic well-wishers at the Markham Room of the Rembrandt Banquet Hall in Scarborough, Toronto. Canada.



The evening event, ably hosted jointly by Kaye and Czeska Sion started on time with the formal entry and introduction of the couple and the family entourage, a Pastor gave the homily to the gathering, followed by the traditional re-pledging of "til' death do us part" promise. During the beef- and- chicken dinner, an "over the years" slide show was presented and   manugang Genyfel Acuna delightfully entertained by belting popular Filipino and English love songs .

 In  official greetings and recognition of the Acuna couple, the San Juan siblings of  Jonathan, Bobby, Juliet and Alexis read and presented individually 4 congratulatory scrolls from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Ontario Premier Doug Ford, Member of Federal Parliament  Salma Zahid and Member of Provincial Parliament Christina Mitas, both for Scarborough Centre, Toronto.  

Likewise, the proud Acuna children, namely Fritzgerald("Fritzie"), Adlemi( "Amy") and Iris Elaine, together with grand kids Shaun Acuna and Jason & Ariele Torres , expressed their profound respect and appreciation of the couples' everlasting parental love and guidance. Special toasts were offered too by the Jonathan Acuna San Juan, from New Jersey, USA & the original ring bearer, and German and Vicky Abaca all wishing for "another 50 years" of blissful happiness!

The couple opened the dance floor with the traditional anniversary dance and joined in by invited guests and friends.

Before the evening celebration winded down,Terry and Mhel revealed, punctuated by the listeners' oohs, aahs & giggles,  their interesting "I was enchanted by her" love story which started in Pateros, Rizal and ended up exchanging vows in St. Paul de Vincent Church, San Marcelino Street,  Ermita, Manila.



Moreover, the duo did the ceremonial cake-cutting and after which gratefully expressed their pasasalamat to their guests and special people for their warm presence and participation. Additionally, they thanked the mga punong-abala like son Fritz, daughters Amy & Iris, daughter-in-law Gaygay and balae Ofelia Blase who collaboratively made the preparations of the 50th celebratory party. Meaningfully, It was surely an evening of enjoyable, lively and memorable moments for the celebrants and their family, friends and guests, as well. ( Tony A. San Juan)
