PIDC Announces Date of Flag Raising for Independence Day

Toronto, ON, March 1, 2019/PIDC/ - The Philippine Independence Day Council (PIDC), wishes to announce that the Flag Raising Ceremony, marking the historical independence of the Philippines, will take place on June 12, 2019, at Toronto City Hall, from 12pm to 2pm. We would like to invite all members and supporters of the Filipino-Canadian community to attend.

In addition to the significance of the highlighted occasion, this year’s ceremony will coincide with the first ever national “Filipino Heritage Month”. Subsequently, dignitaries, representing several levels of government, will be invited to attend this rich tradition within the Filipino-Canadian community. 

Following the ceremony, guests will be treated to entertainment, lunch, as well as brief speeches from government representatives. ·        Miss and Little Miss Philippines PIDC (Saturday, July 6, 2019, Sandra Fair and Ivan Fecan Theatre, 4700 Keele Street York University);

·        Mabuhay Philippines Festival (Friday, August 23, 2019 to Sunday, August 25, 2019, at Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto City Hall – 100 Queen Street West, Toronto)
