GTA Toronto Hoops to Conduct Summer Palarong Basketbol 2019

Once again the ever-popular sporting league, the GTA Hoops, will host its "2nd Annual Basketball Invitational" competitions on June 14, 15 & 16, 2019. The 3 - day exciting event known as the Palarong Basketbol - 2019 will be conducted at the HoopDome, Downsview Park, 75 Carl Hall Road, North York, Toronto.
The Palarong Basketbol is being held in the Filipino Canadian community in conjunction with the inaugural commemoration of "June Filipino Heritage Month" across Canada as proclaimed by the Canadian Parliament in the House of Commons on October 22, 2019. As most basketball aficionados will attest that playing basketball is "Pinoy's national sports" and, almost "a national pastime"...... a genuine part of our Filipino heritage.
According to the organizers, the Palaro will have 11 age-group player divisions, such as: 2009 - Novice; 2008 - Atom; 2007 - Major Atom; 2006 - Bantam; 2005 - Major Bantam; 2004 - Midget; 2003 - Juvenile; 2001/2002 - Junior; 2000 & older - Open; 2004 & younger - Girls; and 2003 & older - Ladies. As usual, leading basketball teams from the Greater Toronto Area and suburban communities are expected to join the challenging basketbolan liga.
Interested participating clubs and teams are requested and encouraged to register early. 3 games are guaranteed to be played by each team. Registration deadline is set on June 1, 2019 (Saturday). Moreover, a meeting of the leaders and /or representatives of participating ball clubs will be called sometime in May 2019. Every registered ball club or participating team will be duly invited and notified to attend, accordingly.
The members of GTA Hoops Basketball Organizing Committee are sponsoring and conducting anew the summer tournament in purposeful pursuit and support of community and youth development through friendly games of competitive basketball. Specifically, the organizers expect and hope to help promote sports fitness, discipline, leadership skills, fellowship and goodwill amongst the players, participants, officials, parents, sponsors and spectators alike.
