Seniors from Fairfield, Marayong, Merrylands and Rooty Hill gathered in Blacktown 27 March to mark AGAPI travel officer Susana Agcaoili’s 79th birthday, the large contingent a testament to the popularity of the much-esteemed individual.
Agcaoili, with assistance from daughter Lisa and son Teody, hosted lunch at the Blacktown RSL buffet for nearly a hundred guests led by Association of Golden Australian Pilipinos Inc. members.
Sashaying through tables for the de rigueur photo opps, Susing, as Agcaoili is fondly called, thanked guests for their presence and making her birthday a joyful event.
“I am so glad you could all attend today,” Susing said, noting with delight the festivities planned for March celebrants by the various senior groups.
A native of Ilocos Norte, Susing was pleasantly surprised when AGAPI photographer Nards Purisima and his wife Delia presented her with a creative though unusual bouquet, a bunch of long-stemmed saluyot accented with cherry tomatoes.
“Not to worry,” Susing beamed with gratitude. “I’ll soon cook them for everyone to share.”
