KC # 9144 ROSE SUNDAY PROJECT TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE UNBORN CHILDREN

The Prince of Peace Knights of Columbus #9144 held their Rose Sunday Project to raise funds to support charities for the unborn children.
KC # 9144 had several Successful Projects for the Community, Church, Council, Family, Youth and Seniors.
Some of the Knights of Columbus Council#9144 Projects last year included:
· Conducted the KC Council #9144 in the January Basketball Free Throw contest where overr 200 students (ages 7-14 yrs. old) from 9 catholic elementary and high schools in Scarborough. This is the largest participating sports in the Knights of Columbus worldwide. Overall winners receive a large trophy from the KC Supreme Council.
· KC Membership campaign : Knights signed up new members for KC Council # 9144.
· Donated to the Supreme Council RSVP for Deacon's schooling.
· St. Joseph feast day in March was celebrated with a Holy Mass by Fr. Michael Holmes. Council Knights and their wives served as clergies, lectors and ministers. A new St. Joseph Statue in the PoP Church was donated by a Knight.
· The Council Knights and their families held a silent protest on Abortion. Knights and parishioners stood in the corner of Steeles Ave, East and McCowan Road.
· KC conducted a Family Picnic at Milliken Park for the families of the Knights last the Summer.
· Donated funds to support the Senior's Projects in the Parish.
· The Knights and Parishioners collected used eyeglasses in the PoP Church. These were cleaned, refurbished them, packaged and sent to the poor countries
· KC " Fun" Bowling for the Knights and Families in Markham. Everybody had a nice time. Prizes were awarded.
· "Balikbayan" Boxes containing used clothes and canned goods were sent by KC # 9144 to the poor families in the Philippines.
· A Memorial Mass was held in PoP Church in November in memory of the deceased knights and families.
· KC # 9144 Knights managed the PoP Church Christmas Party for the parishioners children. The knights' families served in this event.
· The Knights and their families gathered together in December and sung Christmas Carols in a nearby church.
