Toronto Region Featineans Celebrate 30th Anniversary

Fully committed to its vision and mission, The Featineans Association of Toronto -TFAT with its officers and members, celebrated their 30th founding year anniversary on May 11, 2019, at North Thornhill Community Centre, Thornhill, Ontario. Organized in 1989, TFAT is a popular and progressive organization of alumni and former students, employees and faculty members of FEATI University in Santa Cruz, Manila, Philippines.

Over 250 guests, friends, and supporters attended and joined in the 5- hour pearly commemorative evening of lively dancing, dining and fellowship. The program was opened with welcome remarks by Rudy Ortiz, secretary & event chair; invocation by Rudy Olay, auditor; and an inspirational message by Oliver Rey, president.

A vocal solo was rendered by event co-chair Ed Baruela and special dance exhibitions were performed by the Dynamic Divas, Negrense Dancers, and Multicultural Dance Group led by Cecile Barrientos, Leonisa Aliko and Annabelle Chipongian, respectively. A 50-50 cash draw and door prizes were raffled for the lucky guests.

Aptly and jointly emceed by co-founder Tony A. San Juan and director Ed Baruela, the successful commemorative event received excellent support from TFAT officers & members, namely: Annie Buiza, Frank Amurao, Rolly Balangue, Tirso Balitian, Christine Baruela, Rose & Tom Flores, Moises Ga, Tony & Mary Ann Gatongay, Lucy, Virginia Maruso, Rudy & Zeny Ortiz, Bert & Rory Pabustan, Nenita & Max Recaido, Darlene Rey, Jocelyn San Juan, and Har & Lina Tawatao.

TFAT is continuously proud of its established and purposeful programs & projects in the Philippines, especially in FEATI University, of supporting scholars and recognizing outstanding graduates for the past 20 years.
