FACAES INDUCTS NEW SET OF OFFICERS FOR 2019-2021

Filipino-Australian Community Association, Eastern Sydney (FACAES) has successfully concluded the Induction and Oath-taking Ceremonies for its newly elected officers for 2019-2021 term of office on 12 May 2019 held at Kensington Park Community Centre in Kensington, NSW.
The event was very special as FACAES also celebrated its 12 years of operation in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. Consul General Maria Teresa Taguiang, Philippine Consulate Sydney, delivered a special message to the newly elected FACAES officers and was also the Inducting Officer who administered the Oath of Office. Apart from Congen Taguiang, the guests list included Federal Labor MP for Kingsford-Smith, the Honourable MP Matt Thislethwaite, Clr Alexandra Luxford (Randwick Council) who represented Randwick Mayor Clr Kathy Neilson, who begged of due to earlier commitment, and Mr. Alric Bulseco, President of Philippine Community Council of NSW.
In his welcome speech, Mr. Roque Molavin, the newly elected FACAES President thanked his fellow officers in choosing him to be their new leader. He also thanked and acknowledged the presence of Federal MP Matt Thistlethwaite (Member for Kingsford Smith), Clr Alexandra Luxford of Randwick Council, representing the Randwick Mayor Clr Kathy Neilson, Consul General Maria Teresa Taguiang of the Philippine Consulate in Sydney and Mr. Alric Bulseco, President of Philippine Community Council of NSW. In his speech, MP Matt Thistlethwaite thanked and appreciated FACAES role in the migrant community in the Eastern Suburbs, particularly the staging of the first Filipino Fiesta in Randwick in 2017 and the 2nd staging in 2018. MP Matt stated that he had helped and supported FACAES in the past and he would continue doing the same thing now and in the years to come.
