PORCH SEASON 9 OPEN INVITATIONAL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT OPENS in JUBAIL, KSA

JUBAIL KSA - The PORCH Season 9 Open Invitational Basketball Tournament kicked off last Friday with a colorful opening ceremony before an overflow crowd at Al Huwaylat Gymnasium, Royal Commission Area, Jubail, KSA

PORCH Season 9 Guests together with Hon. Adam Musa, Labor Attache and Head of POLO Eastern Region Operations, Philippine Embassy - Riyadh

Thirty teams paraded in their uniforms during the ceremony. Hon. Adam Musa, Labor Attache and Head of POLO-Eastern Region Operations graced the event. He commended the PORCH Organizers for indulging this kind of initiative which will benefit not only the members of the organization but the whole Filipino Community in the area. Furthermore the efforts of the organizer in bringing the community united and healthy is one way of relieving our workers from helplessness and homesickness, thereby saving them from vices and other socially and morally unacceptable deeds in the host country.

A welcome address were given by the Mr. Jun Estruche , the over-all Chairman of PORCH Season 9. followed by Inspirational Message by the NAMA President Engr. Elmer Reyes. He quoted and salutes PORCH Organizing Committee for their continuing efforts to provide all OFWs here in Jubail the ways and means to relive glorious basketball moments though the Porch tournaments, that now on its 9^th Season and expecting more exciting games, played in the utmost spirits and camaraderie . He added that PORCH Seasons 1 to 8 have given us fun-filled Fridays for all of us to enjoy and play basketball. He also congratulated PORCH Committee for a job well done.

PORCH Season 9 organized by Pinoy Overseas at Royal Commission Hospital headed by, Jun Estruche Over-all Chairperson, together with Jun Peronilla, Rey Tubig, Ronnie Mendoza, Patrick Padilla, Sherwin Malabanan, Jaypee Santos, Andee Anoche, Nelson Mapa, Allan Sia, Grace Araujo, Joel Sogocio, Romi Cruz, G-Boie Lacsamana, Drage Dumoran, Nasser Ereno, Robert Matawaran, Jacklord de Villa, Jun Mendoza, Committee Medics headed by , Fernan Amaro , Karen Ponce, Carmelita Peronilla, Christian Yu, Mervin Apilan, Alden Ramen. RyanEreno , Officiating Referees headed by Rolly Temporal , Marlon Echon and Ruel Rosas.

According to Mr Jun Estruche PORCH 9 Over-all Chairman, PORCH Basketball Tournament is not like some other Tournament organized within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, because another highlights of the tournament is to see to it that all participating teams are physically fit and healthy to play basketball, before the tournament begins all participating team players subjected for pre-medical assessments by the PORCH Medics, to include, Blood Pressure, Glaucose or Blood Sugar Test, weight, cholesterol levels and heights. The said medical monitoring and assessments, extended during and until the whole duration of the tournament.

The tournament that will runs for three months sponsored by Saudi Ready Mix Co LTD, Mobily & Globe, Al Khonaini Company, Mr. Willy de Lara Chief of Finance Saudi Ready Mix and Mr. Rannie Basanta CEO Mobily , Riyadh along with some minor sponsors such as Trainors Jubail Chapter, Scout Royals Brotherhood, International Shutters Organization ISO, Kabayan Restaurant Jubail, Mr. Eugene Angeles, Mr Ponch Luna, Mr Rodel Toledo and Mrs Corazon Reyes.
