HOLLAND (SPH) PRE-SUMMER PARTY 2019

A nice day perfect for jumming with friends and letting one’s self loose. Everybody is looking forward to another Samahang Pilipino sa Holland (SPH) disco. Held once again at the Horeca T Kwadrant in Tilburg last June 15, friends and guests were impressed by the beautifully decorated entrance. An arch of meticulously entertwined red, white and blue balloons welcomes the guests as they step into the hall….very fascinating!

As the guests were trying to appreciate the decorations, the stumping sound of the music puts them instantly into the rhythm of the night. Right there and then you know, you will be dancing all night long. And not a minute to waste.

Enthusiastic to dance to the live music performed by two very charming singers Kristine and Tina guests got more than what they were expecting. Special guest Ruben Rivella stepped in to join and the three were just explosive! Their repertoire of hit songs is amazing and we just could not get enough! In between breaks DJ Frank makes sure the momentum stays the same. Non stop disco music all night long.

This fund raising pre-summer disco is bringing out the best in everyone. Worth mentioning is the good Samaritan Mr. Rinus Beertema, who won the second price of 75 euros in cash during the tambola. He donated the money to SPH and in his own words “This is for the children in the Philippines”. This big guy has a very kind heart….that was one touching moment.

There is everything a woman could ask for in the hall. Skin care products by partners Avi Astrera, bags, shoes, jewelries and of course lots of Pinoy delicacies prepared by Juliet Paco. It was another very successful SPH Pre-Summer Party and party gangers danced ‘til past midnight. The evenings success could be translated into another project back home. Last May, SPH headed to Zambales Philippines to fulfill another planned project. And once again hundreds of children benefited from this undertaking.

SPH president Annabella Verweerd and daughter Harly Lopez went to Zambales to personally deliver school supplies, snacks and candies to the children of Paite – Balincaguing Elementary School and neighboring schools. Yet to get to these very remote barangays is not an easy task. Going up to the mountains where there is no public transportation has to be improvised. The group even have to cross rivers by foot to reach to the children who were anxiously waiting for them. A daunting task…..but that is what Samahang Pilipino Sa Holland (SPH) dedicated themselves to – to help our children in these very remote, isolated areas go to school and get proper education.

SPH would like to thank all their friends, guests and party goers whom in one way or another supported and help make this SPH Pre-Summer Party another festivity to remember.
