Some members of the Filipino Community who are affiliated with the civil society movement called Sydney Alliance lobbied actively to State and Federal politicians to put the general welfare of the people in their priority agenda of government.
Shown in picture is Dr Cen Amores, well-known Filipino-Australian multicultural volunteer leader speaking to various political candidates.
This particular event was held at Homebush NSW with some Labor Party candidates. Filipino-led organisations like Kapitbahayan Coop, Allkiance of Phil Community Organisations, Auburn Small Community Organisations, PACSI and Western Sydney Womens at Work were strongly represented.
