JAKI PENALOSA: an International Fashion Icon

 Summer festivities are almost over and we welcome the autumn breeze in the fall. With the Thanksgiving feast is just around the corner, it is but fitting to bring you a big surprise by putting together a Fashion Show at its best.Agnes Miranda of WFG and Mrs. Norma Carpio, President and CEO of Imperial World Inc. will be producing a one-of-a-kind runway show with the Internationally acclaimed Fashion Designer Icon, Jacqueline Alcantara Penalosa, who hails from Iloilo City, Philippines.

Well known as Jaki Penalosa, she finished her Bachelor of Sciences in Medicine, Nursing and Biology degrees. Jaki, also achieved Master in Management in Business Administration.

Jaki Penalosa has successfully showcased her rare collections internationally from 1993 to the present, namely: Fashion Show held at the PIDC Mabuhay Philippines Festival 2016, featuring Bea Santiago, Miss International 2013; Expo Show in Rome and Milan, Italy; London Fashion Show in London, England; ASEA Week Fashion Show in Los Angeles, California; Oslo, Norway; Vienna, Austria; Silk Festival Fashion Show in Cambodia; Virginia, USA; Asian Canadian Fashion Week and Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto, Ontario; Vancouver & Calgary, Canada; and the latest is the Trade Mission Fashion/Jewelry Show, which was held in Washington, DC.

An accomplished fashion designer, Jaki uses different themes in her shows such as Allure; Sepia; Torque; Matrix Revolution; Charlie's Angels and Wall of Dolls. Some of her "One Woman Show" were Chinese New Year, Chamber of Commerce and Mutya ng Pilipinas. Held from 2003-2018, her acclaimed National Regional Shows were Miss Republic of the Philippines, Barbie Show and Philippine Fashion Week Show. Casting calls held subsequently in Toronto was successful in selecting qualified models to strut their stuff on the runway. Jaki Penalosa will be showcasing her intricate designs featuring her specialties such as, hablon and other handwoven abaca, silk, pina, and cotton interwoven with other fibres.Jaki is expected to arrive in Toronto on Wed., September 26th, all the way from the Philippines. Dubbed as: "Fashion Show with Jaki Penalosa", is going to be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Novotel Hotel Toronto Mississauga, 3670 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, Ontario.
