Samahan ng mga Pilipino Luxembourg Celebrates Christmas 2018

Last December 15, 2018 , the Samahan ng mga Pilipino Luxembourg asbl held their annual Christmas party at the ball room of the Double Tree Hilton in Luxembourg. It was an event full of fun and surprises from start to finish. The ball room was packed with guests all dressed in their best and were all ready to party. All seat were taken to the maximum capacity and reservation has to be stopped 2 weeks prior the event with many people trying to reserved their entrance tickets.
The event was attended by friends from Luxembourg, France, Belgium and Germany. The program was skillfully guided by Ms. Bernadette Robles and Mr. Elvin Montes who acted as our emcees while DJ Choy Banzuela came all the way from Padova, Italy to take charge of the music and Aleen Jay Viscayno from Antwerp, Belgium performed live on stage. Minister and Consul Anna De Vera together with her husband Mr. Fabio was the Philippine Embassy representative.
The Best in Evening Gown, Best in Filipiniana Costumes were judge by Mrs. Carmencita Kromann (Event coordinator), Mr. Bob Kieffer(Lawyer), Mr. Jef Baesa (U.S. Army) and Mr. Kristiaan Van Arkel (Corporate Administrator). Winners of the Search for Best in Evening Gown and Best in Filipiniana Costumes are as followed. Ms. Lyn Cruz (Grand winner Best in Evening Gown) Ms. Mary Ken Gloria Grand winner( Best in Filipiniana Costume) Runners-up for the Best in Evening Gown competition are 1st Runner-up Jennifer Ontolon 2nd Runner—up Esperanza Heidrich and 3rd Runner-up Mylene Tangeten . Runners-up for Best in Filipiniana Costumes are 1st Runner-up Marietta Grisius , 2nd Runner-up Ailene Camaya Schmartz 3rd Runner-up Edith Alves Pires . All winners received sashes and trophies. Children Christmas Costume winners are Julia Aimee Manalo , 1st runner-up Lucas McRoald 2nd runner-up Laura Aneli and 3rd runner-up Angel Cruz.
The Samahan Lux asbl Christmas Party 2018 was a resounding success. The crowd not only enjoyed the food but also the program. The Samahan dancers performed dance medley numbers Feliz Navidad, Budot budot and 24K while another group the Flower girls performed a Filipino Folk dance called Bulaklakan.
The success of the event can never be measured by mere happiness of the attendees but through the fulfillment of the organizer to raise fund for this year’s event beneficiaries. This year beneficiaries are Banga National High School of Banga, South Cotobato (sound system, beamer and laptop for their audio visual room), Salag Elementary School and Camobo-an Elementary School both located at Tabogon, Cebu both were given donation for feeding program.
Finally let me say thank you to all Samahan Lux asbl members who performed their respective duties during the party, to all our sponsors and donors and also to all our friends who came and supported the event. their generosity had always been our inspiration.
