Cherry Blossoms at Toronto’s High Park

My wife, Lilia and I are retired; though, we’re now enjoying our free time and then, one day we thought that maybe we could squeeze in some hours in our daily routine for us to see firsthand the much-talked-about cherry blossoms.
After reading a newspaper reports that only in late April or early May, these cherry blossoms will reach its peak bloom, lasting only from 4 to 10 days, so with a child’s curiosity, we eagerly would want to see soonest these flowers’ blooming.
In the morning of May 10 at exactly 11:27, we boarded the bus right at the TTC bus station near our condo and in a few minutes, we reached the Kennedy subway station and boarded the train; we were at the High Park subway station at 12:32 p.m.
Since this was our first time going there, Lilia inquired the guy manning the TTC booth on how we could reach the place, he simply pointed to us all the signs that say “Cherry Blossoms This Way”. And after walking for 10 minutes, we found ourselves right under these cherry blossoms trees--not only enjoying the sight of the place but also breathing the fresh air of the environment.
All we had was admiration for this rare and wonderful gift of nature: these cherry blossoms being surrounded by trees of different varieties, giving off the pollution-free air that cleansed our lungs.
Do we have plans to go back there next year? Of course, we do!
