After a very successful staging of the well attended 1st Filipino Fiesta in Randwick in 2017, the Filipino-Australian Community Association, Eastern Sydney (FACAES) is again spearheading the event for the 2nd year in a row on 28 October 2018 at Alison Park in Randwick.
With the support and cooperation of the Philippine Community Council of NSW and the Randwick Council, FACAES through its President, Mrs. Precy Santos is elated with the support FACAES continuously received that paved the way to hold the event tor 2nd consecutive year. This Filipino-style Cultural and Arts Festival starts at 10:00 AM and concludes at 7:00 PM.
As part of the program, the event will again showcase the rich Filipino heritage through songs, dances, food exhibits, charity raffles with the main event being the introduction and presentation of beauty candidates vying for the Miss and Mrs. Sydney, NSW and Miss and Mrs. Sydney Charity Queens for 2018.
The awarding ceremonies will be held during the Coronation Night on 18 November 2018 at Burwood RSL Club in Burwood, NSW.
For the first time, FACAES will introduce a multi-cultural dance competition open to all multicultural groups based in Sydney. At this early, FACAES is anticipating approximately 1000-1500 Filipino-Australians along with their families and friends who will show up,to participate and join the whole day event.
Bragging about the successful staging of the 1st Filipino Fiesta in Randwick in November 2017, FACAES President, Mrs. Precy Santos is again expecting a mammoth crowd converging at Alison Park on 28 Oct. 2018 to continue to support and patronize this 2nd Filipino Fiesta in Randwick to ensure another record-breaking year.
To add spice to the program, FACAES is announcing the search for new “Mrs. Sydney, NSW”. Mrs. Santos believes that the introduction of Mrs. Sydney tilt will bring a lot of excitement in this year’s event. As an active Filipino Community Association for the last 11 years, FACAES is an affiliate member of the Philippine Community Council of NSW, the umbrella organization of majority of Filipino Community Associations operating in New South Wales.
This year, FACAES is partnering with NARRA as co-organizers of the Miss and Mrs Sydney, NSW and Miss and Mrs Charity Queens 2018 through the kindness and generosity of their indefatigable President Mr. Jimmy Lopez. Mr. Lopez was responsible for FACAES to use the Burwood RSL during the Coronation Night scheduled on 18 Nov. 2018 with free venue fee arrangement.
This year, FACAES is ecstatic to welcome two major sponsors into their fold. They are the Philippine Airlines (PAL) through their Country Manager, Mr. Ian Robinson and Phirst Park Homes represented in Sydney by Ms. Fel Martinez.
As a first time sponsor, PAL is giving away a round trip ticket Sydney-Manila-Sydney to the winner of the Charity Raffle while Phirst Park is providing cash sponsorship donation. Mrs. Santos hopes that with PAL coming on board, it would be a start of a wonderful relationship between FACAES and Asia’s First Airline and the Philippine’s Flag carrier.
On the other hand, Mrs. Santos thank Ms. Fel Martinez of Phirst Park Homes who is supporting FACAES 2nd Filipino Fiesta in Randwick for the first time. Mrs. Santos likewise looks forward for Phirst Park Homes to continue supporting FACAES in furtherance of one of their goals “In Service of the Community”.
