As a follow up for the successful Turkey Ball weekend tournament last year FBL Canada in cooperation with Kapatid TV5 will hold its annual Turkey Ball again on October 5-7 at the Toronto Pan AM Sports Centre in Scarborough. 2-time PBA MVP James Yap will be the special guest for the opening ceremonies on October 6 at 11 AM. Prior to the opening ceremonies he will also have a Tips and Tricks basketball clinic for Kapatid TV5 subscribers at 10 AM. To complete his itinerary, he will also come to the fund raising dinner dance party for Team Canada NBTC at the BIM (361 Wilson Ave. North York) at 7 PM. All these were made possible through the efforts and assistance of AV Communications Ms. Anna Maramba and Kapatid TV5.

Expected to grace the event also includes Toronto Mayor John Tory and other Filipino Canadian hopefuls for the upcoming municipal elections. Hosts are Ms Lovely Danna Luna and MC Rich with the Pinoy DJ's of Toronto adding flavour to the event.

A total of 73 teams will vie for the championships for each division from kids born 2010 to Open age group. CKATT is expected to defend their overall championship with North York and Crossover looking to take a chance to grab the coveted glass trophy. Teams all over the GTA and surrounding region are also to compete and participate on this year’s last major weekend tourney for the Filipino Community. Montreal is hoping to repeat their 2004 division championships while Quebec Pinoy Bryds is testing the waters for the first time. Heavy favourite for 2008 and 2006 UNDFTD will have its hands full with new challenges coming from FBA Durham. 2005 division is up for a toss with all teams improving this year. New division Juvenile is hoping to add excitement to the tournament with CKATT being the team to beat after capturing the division at the recently concluded NABA inter City Championships in Montreal. Fil Act of Bebot Silva on the hand will try to preserve its dominance at the Open Division.

FBL Canada would like to thank all its member clubs for continued support on its advocacy to improve the local league system and make it affordable for everyone. Its partnerships with our local business has helped FBL Canada become one of the most anticipated weekend tournament in Toronto. Thus the Filipino Community is very happy as once again as we will not only enjoy the games this time at the 2018 Turkey Ball but also PLAY WITH PRIDE!
