Semirara Island, Caluya, Antique is located just at the southern tip of Mindoro. Here in Semirara Island is the biggest coal mining in the Philippines operated by Semirara Mining Co. Sometimes nature needs a bit of help like in tree planting and reforestation. And here is where Semiarara Mining sets new standards in Environmental and Ecology initiatives. All over the hillsides one can see a variety of trees carefully selected for their adaptability to the soil conditions and the terrain.
Thousands upon thousands of saplings ready for replanting. The amazing thing about the Tree Planting is that it is a purely Volunteer work and the people of Semirara island gladly give up their week-ends to to give to Mother Earth what it never had in this dry island.
Unung Lake: This used to be one of the very first coal mine sites and now it is a lake, a sanctuary for migratory birds. The lake is stocked with shrimps and fishes.
All over the island, there are beaches with fine white sand. Here in the Giant ClamHatchery, there is a beach fronting a beautiful little island. The Beach itself has very fine white sand in a tranquil cove setting with the water gently lapping on the shore..

The Beach Resort: One of the most beautiful made attractions of Semirara island is the Beach Resort. The Main Building of Semirara Beach Resort with the pool and beautiful garden setting
Standing right in the very center of each garden are huge natural driftwood statues with the most thought provoking designs nature can ever carve enabling each visitor to go into deep and tranquil meditation.
Fronting the Beach resort is the beach with very fine powdery white sand in a cove like setting
