TFAT Elects 2014-2016 Officers; Rey is President

Scarborough-June 29: The Featineans Association of Toronto (TFAT) recently chose its new set of officers and directors for the 2014-2016 term. The election was held at Thompson Memorial Park, Scarborough, Toronto on June 29, 2014 during the alumni organization's 26th annual picnic and get-together.

Leading the new Executive Board is Engr. Oliver Rey as president. This is the second term for Rey after serving as chief executive officer from 2004 to 2011. He succeeds Engr.Moises Ga . Supporting Rey as officers are : Moises Ga, 1st vice president; Max Recaido, 2nd vice president; Rudy Ortiz, secretary; Norma Guanzon, asst. secretary; Nenita Recaido, treasurer; Greg Gravador, asst. treasurer; Rudy Olay, auditor; Tom Flores, business mgr.; and Tony A. San Juan, public relations officer.

The other members of the Executive Board are directors Rolando Balangue, Tirso Balitian, Cesar Banda, Ed Baruela, Ramon Cespedes, Tony Gatongay, Fanny Gravador, Bert Pabustan, Jocelyn San Juan, Joey Saturno and Eric Serapio. Tirso Balitian, Annie Buiza, Julio Buiza and Tony San Juan, as living TFAT Founders, serve as Director Emeriti of the organization.

TFAT, organized in July 1989, is composed of alumni and former students, employees, and faculty members of FEATI University, an institution of higher learning in engineering, technological and professional education sited along the banks of Pasig River in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

For the past 25 years , TFAT  has been engaged and supported outreach and ongoing worthwhile programs and projects including 1) university scholarship grants, 2) financial donations to Canadian and Philippine charities, foundations,and religious groups 3) members benevolent fund , 4) calamity - disaster relief assistance, 5) academic excellence recognition awards, 6) inter-university alumni associations sports fest and 7) fundraising socials and activities.(TSJ).
