Reimagining a World of Peace

Sydney: As this year draws to a close, receive ‘My Peace’. This is still your deepest need, and I, your HWPL Ambassador Australia sends messages of global peace and hope!

"Never underestimate the power you have to take your life in a new direction." "Every moment is a fresh beginning." "Life's not about expecting, hoping and wishing, it's about doing, being and becoming."

"I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past."

As the new year approaches, Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) hosted its End of Year Event for the HWPL Family on the 18th of December 2021.

Members of civil society from all walks of life gathered to share this year's achievements of peace and envision the initiatives to implement in the upcoming year.

Imran Maqsood, the founder and director of the Faisalabad School for Peace, a peace school in Pakistan established to bring peace and education to the least fortunate of the area, began our evening with his testimonial.

Charles Allen, the Director of Partnerships with the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), briefed the current status and trajectory of peace in Australia. Though Australia is one of the more peaceful regions in the Asia-Pacific region, the trend in Australia is declining. With this trajectory, HWPL calls for collaboration to advance peace together.

The first half closed with a sweet performance by HWPL’s youth group, the International Peace Youth Group (IPYG), and a closing speech from Ms Tahera, the founder of Afghan Peace Foundation, who helps women and runs empowerment programs through community sources, offering her services on a volunteer basis. Ms Tahera is also a great supporter of peace programs around Sydney and works closely with HWPL’s partner organisation, the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG), IPYG and HWPL through all their peace projects. The second half featured the return of our WARP Office panellists joining to share and elucidate with their testimonies about the question, 'what inspires you in your religious journey?'

In the face of adversity, HWPL continues to grasp the hope and reimagine a world of peace. As we all gather to envision, evolve and implement the plans, we show the power of unity and actualise the hope of peace. We are one!
