Prince of Peace Parish Celebrated 25th Anniversary

The Prince of Peace Church in Scarborough celebrated their 25th Anniversary. Most Rev. Vincent Nguyen, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Toronto, celebrated the Thanksgiving Mass together with nine other priests, headed by Pastor Rev. Fr. Regulo Imperial.
Church was founded and built by Rev. Fr. Bill Harding and was consecrated by His Eminence Emmett Cardinal Carter on May 17, 1987.
The Bishop Charles P. Greco provided the KC Honour Guards for Bishop Nguyen.
After the Mass, a formal dinner was served at Grand Baccus Banquet hall in Scarborough, where 700 parishioners and guests joined Rev. Fr. Bishop Nguyen, Fr. Regulo Imperial and the clergies.
Parish Pastoral Council President Bob Kalisz, together with Fr. Regulo Imperial, presented the 25 year Service Awards to the Parish loyal and caring workers, for serving the Church with their generous time and talents. Awardees include Cathy MacNeil, (Parish Secretary), Ken Mohammed (Computer Systems Analyst), Tom Mitrovski (Caretaker) and a young 10 year awardee Friedrich Antazo. The other original parishioners were also acknowledged during the dinner ceremonies
A sumptuous and delicious dinner was served. The guests was entertained by multi-cultural dancers. All the guests will never forget this memorable celebration of the Silver Jubliee. The Parish Council, the Parish Staff and the committees led by Rolston Wong and Thelma Antazo spent several hundred hours to make this celebration a success. Gerry Cruz was responsible for the PoP 25th Anniversary Souvenir Program.
The Silver Jubilee celebration of the Prince of Peace Church is winding down. The next event is Parish Picnic to be held at the Goldhawk Park, next to the parish church grounds on June 9, 2012. Parishioner families and their guests are welcome.
