First KOR ANZO Regional Assembly and Conference 23-25 November 2018 - Sydney, Australia

It is all systems go for the Knights of Rizal (KOR) – Australia, New Zealand and Oceania (ANZO Region) Regional Assembly and Conference to be held on 23-25 November 2018. This will be the first time that the ANZO Region will hold an Assembly after more than 30 years that a Knights of Rizal Chapter was first formed in the land down under.



The holding of a KoR ANZO Regional Assembly and Conference is long overdue and according to the incumbent ANZO Regional Commander Sir Cesar Bartolome, KCR …

“When I was knighted in 2009 and first visited the Knights of Rizal International Headquarters in Manila that same year, I had an opportunity to have an audience with the then Supreme Commander Sir Virgilio Esguerra, KGCR and during that meeting, the Supremo has asked about the prospects of the ANZO Region holding its first Regional Assembly. As a newly inducted knight that query was stored in my mind and made a conviction that if it will not happen earlier, then I will do my best to make it happen when given the opportunity to do so.”

The opportunity came when Sir Cesar was appointed as ANZO Regional Commander in October 2016. With the support of the Sydney Chapter and its current Chapter Commander Sir Danny Peralta, KCR, the duo together with the team of the ANZO Regional Council went to work and first established new chapters in the region thereby expanding its membership base.

What followed was the chartering of the first KoR Chapter in New Zealand, the Auckland Chapter and the new Western Sydney Chapter in New South Wales. The ANZO Regional Officers also fully supported Sir Danny Peralta, KCR in his initiative to put up a KoR Chapter in his home province of Bataan in the Philippines, the Bataan Kagitingan Chapter. It was during the chartering of the Bataan Kagitingan Chapter in November 2017 that Sir Cesar made a slide presentation to the members of the Supreme Council in attendance led by the Supreme Commander Sir Reynato Puno, KGCR that officially announced the plan to hold the First ANZO Regional Assembly and Conference in Sydney which was welcomed with a loud applause.

So this coming 23-25 November 2018 with the theme: RIZAL AND THE PILIPINO DIASPORA: CROSSING BORDERS, EXPANDING HORIZONS, ENRICHING THE WORLD , the Executive Committee and the Sydney (Host) Chapter of the First ANZO Regional Assembly and Conference are inviting all Knights of Rizal from all over the globe to come to Sydney, Australia to participate in the 3-day Conference.

The conference will be highlighted by a wreath laying and tree planting ceremony during the first day visit to the Rizal Park in the City of Campbeltown, NSW; the conference proper and rituals the following two days; a “live” staging of the play “The Untold Story of Cabesang Tales” written by known historian and a Sydney Knight of Rizal, Sir Floro Quibuyen, KCR PhD as adapted from Rizal’s 2nd Novel El Filibusterismo and the main highlight which is the “Knights’ Gala Night”… to be held in a venue within the Sydney area.  Further details about the First ANZO Regional Assembly and Conference will be communicated to the Supreme Council and all KoR Regions around the world.
