Mario Alpuerto Leads New Set of Toronto Kapuso Lions Club Officers

Mario Alpuerto, a very active leader in the Filipino-Canadian community and Deputy Regional Commander of the Order of the Knights of Rizal Canada Region, was recently elected as President of the Toronto Kapuso Lions Club. The unassuming Alpuerto, humbly accepted his responsibilities as incoming President and pledged his total commitment to the goals of Lions Club International. He is optimistically looking forward to the unique challenges leading a civic organization face in time of a pandemic.

He takes over the position which was previously held by the Club's Charter President, Manny Yanga, another community leader who has committed to continue supporting the Toronto Kapuso Lions Club with the same enthusiasm, energy and  commitment.

 

The Lions program and initiatives focus on four key elements that are essential to its mission of SERVICE: Strengthening membership  through diversity, Expanding service impact globally, Supporting the LCIF Global Foundation, and Empowering every Lion as a leader.

Mario Alpuerto and Manny Yanga, together with the Club's new set of officers and members, in an unprecedented difficult time, have unanimously have agreed to stand together and come up with innovative ways of providing service to the community in a socially distanced way and following health and safety protocols and guidelines set by health authorities.

The other officers of the Toronto Kapuso Lions Club are: Rosalinda Tijam, 1st Vice-President; Judith Gonzales, 2nd Vice-President; Fe Paca-Taduran, Secretary; Velona Daliva, Treasurer; Melinda Manlapaz, Assistant Treasurer; Jose Nolasco, Membership Director; Michael Roland Cruz, Assistant Membership Director; Dario Agustin, Club LCIF Coordinator; April Gonzales and Ernie Tanglao, Civic and Cultural Affairs; Jun and Dinah Padua, Socials and Fund-Raising Activities; and Immediate Past President Manny Yanga, Adviser & Club Service Chairperson.

 

The Toronto Kapuso Lions Club is under Lions District A-711 Region 58, with Lion Sandy Heeralal-Judham as District Governor. (******)
