Berghaus Girls Mini Reunion
“GEZELLIG” Gathering for Norma Manangan

Edna Mijares
July 29, 2008

A “Gezellig” gathering was held during Norma Manangan’s second stop-over visit to Holland this year after a hectic working meeting with the Kenya Alliance Against Malaria in Nairobi, Kenya.
(Maiden names used)
First row alone- Anna Agustin.
Second row seated - Tessie Dolar, Edna Mijares, Josie del Rosario and Norma Manangan.
Third row standing - Flieda Rodolfa, Mellie Lacson, Linda Abuan, Nora Velarde, Gloria Aquino, Gareth Panela.

Shopping in Amsterdam's The Bijenkorf. Ladies, remember? With our meager salaries during those days, still the Bijenkorf was a favorite hangout.

Posing in front of the National Monument on the Dam Square, Amsterdam. Berghaus girls would recall that during the 70's this place was swamped with 'Hippies' during the 'Flower Power' era. Note: Krasnapolski Hotel is still standing there.

Norma is the President and CEO of The Partnership For Strategic Solutions, Inc. a management and operation consulting firm based in Washington, DC. The party was hosted by Mellie and Ton at their lovely colourful home in the ‘Rainbow’ quarter of Almere- Buiten, Holland.

    Dear Eddie and Vic,

On behalf of the Berghaus Girls, I would like to acknowledge your speedy ‘labor of love’ work for posting our party’s photos and mementos on the MN website (gratis et amore!)

We genuinely appreciate your unrelenting community service enabling us to reach out and reconnect to old time far-away’ friends. Viewing through the MN website of how long-lost friends look like nowadays is really exciting and brings back good as well as funny memories of by-gone days -- in our case, the much-talked about and cherished “Berghaus Days.”

Again, thank you and best wishes for a continued success on your roving and widely clicked Website.

    Hi Tante Edna,

Thanks for sending our nice picture taken last saturday. Magaganda pa naman tayo kahit wala na sa kalendaryo di ba.

Magaganda rin ang kuha ninyo sa harap ng Bijenkorf. Parang hindi naman kayo pagod sa pagsashopping.

    Regards,

    Nora Pel
