RIYADH: Bilang tugon sa init ng panahon dala ng summer season, at magkaroon na rin ng pagkakataon na makapagpapawis para sa magandang kalusugan, idinaos ang pormal na pagbubukas ng “Summer Super Liga 2016” volleyball fiesta noong ika-29 ng Hulyo 2016 sa Second Philippine International School-SPIS na dinaluhan ng mga koponan mula sa dalawang kategorya: men’s at women’s division na mga kasali dito.

Ang liga ay nabuo at naisakatuparan dahil sa pagsasanib-puwersa ng dalawang malalaking grupo ng balibol sa Riyadh: Filipino Society of Volleyball Enthusiasts-FILSAVE at Filipino Athletes and Performers Society-FAPS sa pamumuno nina Roger Cadion, Marco Verzuela, Charlotte Villones, Leo Encarnacion at Henry Britos.

Sinuportahan naman ito ng enjaz Banking Services in partnership with China Bank at Virgin Mobile kasama ang Diversified Movement of Empowered Migrants-DMEM at sina Edward Valenzuela at Abdulaziz Kelapio, bilang mga katuwang sa pagdadaraos ng nasabing liga.

Pinasimunuan ni Marlon Vicente ang programa bilang host, kasama si Roger Cadion na nagsimula sa ganap na ika-11 ng umaga. Nagbigay-pambungad na salita si Leo Encarnacion, FAPS President. Ilan din sa mga nagbigay ng intermission numbers sa pamamagitang ng mga awitin ay sina Dareen Hulleza, Bimbo Riva at Nour Hulleza. Pinangunahan naman ni Adrian Salariosa ng SPIS Flying Dragonz ang oath of sportsmanship.

Kabilang sa mga koponan ng men’s division ay Incredibowls, Riyadh Bisdak, KVC, RIS Warriors, SPIS Flying Dragonz, Hokage Warriors, Kingdom Spikers at Brothers. Samantala, ang women’s division naman ay binubuo ng Virgin Mobile, Strikers, SPIS Teens, Lady Dragonz, Lady Warriors, Al Mishari, Friendship at KFMC Attackers.

Sa huli, napiling Best in Uniform ang Hokage Warriors-1st place, Riyadh Bisdak-2nd place at Kingdom Spikers-3rd place mula sa pinaghalong men’s at women’s division teams. Ang Best Banner naman ay nakuha ng Riyadh Bisdak. Samantala, naipagkaloob naman ang Best Muse sa Strikers na sinundan ng Al Mishari at Lady Warriors para sa ikalawa at ikatlong puwesto.

Kasama sa mga naging panauhing pandangal/hurado ay sina Michelle Torres-enjaz Banking Services, Manuel Geronimo- GNC Arabia Sales Manager, Iman Salva-Visual Manager at Adel Guroalin-DMEM.

Ang organizing team ng Summer Super Liga 2016 Volleyball Fiesta ay kinabilangan nina Leo Encarnacion, Roger Cadion, Charlotte Villones, Mary Aliasas, Marco Verzuela, Marlon Aliasas, Henry Britos, Jay-Ar Gonzalez at Arwin Manic.
