Invites You to the 2019 PIDC MABUHAY "PARADE of REGIONS"

Toronto, ON - The Philippine Independence Day Council (PIDC) is cordially inviting all Associations & Organizations, Business Owners, Media Partners, and Individuals to participate in this year's "Mabuhay Parade of Regions", a 2 km march along the streets of downtown Toronto, starting at Nathan Phillips Square, 100 Queen Street West.



In celebration of its 21st year of the Mabuhay Philippines Festival, an annual staple festival in the City of Toronto and with its theme for this year, "PAMANA" or "HERITAGE" , PIDC is holding its party on the streets of downtown Toronto during the "Mabuhay Parade of Regions" on Sunday, August 25th, a re-creation of famous Philippine fiestas with colourful costumes, marching bands, walking contingents of over 140 Filipino-Canadian associations/organizations.

 

Bigger and better, as promised, PIDC will transform the City into a sea of colourful floats, a group of revellers in different costumes, top down cars, walking contingents with their signs and banners, decorated vehicles, flower arcs, a parade of beauties, leaders of the community, different associations & organizations, business owners, dignitaries, music, drums and marching bands.

 

There will be a "Santacruzan" with the parade of beauties participating from different beauty pageant organizations. Please prepare to decorate your own arcs to be displayed to adorn each beauty pageant participants. Every title holders can wear their own crowns and sashes during the street parade.

Parade route:

•         Parade will assemble at Toronto City Hall with participating cars parked on Armoury Street.

•         From Armoury Street, the parade will turn right on University Avenue

•         It will then turn right on Dundas Street West

•         It will then turn right on Yonge Street

•         It will then turn right on Queen Street and re-enter Nathan Phillips Square
