Madeleine Ong and George Poblete led the procession of Mother Mary and the Infant Jesus.
The current Block Rosary Officers and this event's Committee were introduced by the emcees Rusty Muere and Lita Leano.
Our 10 year old singing sensation Nicolas Manlapaz sang the National Anthems of Canada and the Philippines in English, French and Tagalog. Angie Bansil , the Tawag ng Tanghalan Champion sang a number of religious songs. The young pair of Caitlin Ong and Christelle Guerina presented graceful ballet dances, and the coupl Mario and Mercy Patawaran entertained the guests with graceful formal dances.
Rev, Fr. Lorenzo Salandanan, BR Spiritual Adviser gave the Blessing and kind words to the BR Guests.
The Block Rosary Crusade of Toronto was established in1982 by a group of Parishioners from St. Bartholomew Church in Scarborough. The main objective of this Prayer Group was to propagate the daily praying of the Rosary with their families.
Jun Salvador, one of the original founders of this Rosary Group 1, George and Dolly Poblete, who are among the original coordinators of this Rosary Prayer group are still active until now. They started with BR Group 1 with 52 families. This Block Rosary have grown to 14 groups of 52 families with over 700 member families in the GTA, to Oshawa in the east and to New Market in the north.
They conducted the first major fund raising to build the Prince of Peace church in Scarborough, by having a dinner dance at Libermann Catholic High School in 1985, where 500 guests attended.
