Some 25 years ago,Garry and Marla happily walked the aisles at St. Agustin Catholic Church in
Intramuros ,Manila. The proud pair are now blessed with 4 children: Jeremy and Carolyn, Tiffany & Suzanne.
With family members & relatives, personal & business friends, and professional colleagues as living witnesses, Mr. and Mrs Garry Tanuan renewed their vows and reaffirmed their testament of wedded faith officiated by a church elder & family friend Ernie Del Rosario, promising to continue loving and respecting each other for the next 25 years and beyond.
Garry Tanuan, who hails from Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, is a project management practitioner and since 2012, the Trustee of Ward 8 at the Toronto Catholic District School Board ( TCDSB). On one hand, Marla Mercado-Tanuan, a consultant - programmer, has roots in Quezon City and Pampanga. The couple graciously received a certificate of congratulations presented by Senator Tobias Enverga, Jr. and wife, Rosemer .
Among the dignitaries and personalities who expressed well-wishes were : TCDSB chair Angela Kennedy and husband Al; TCDSB new director of education Rory McGuckin and wife Liza, principal of F. Libermann Catholic High School; CPIC chair Geoffrey Feldman, Prince of Peace CSPC chair Daphne Smith & Kevin Smith; Nestor & Natalie Smysniuk, and Mary Laframboise. Also in enthusiastic attendance were religious leaders of CFC-FFL - headed by Kit Galema & wife, FCPACE - led by Joseph Redoblado & spouse Lorelei and friends from Rosary Apostolate-Scarborough 4, St. Faith in Our Child, and St. Joseph Parish. Monina Serrano, Michele Serrano, Jeffrey & Ruth Oliveros, Dario & Maria Guiao, Francis & Christine Manrique, Ronie & Claire Dela Gana, Tony & Jocelyn San Juan and a host of many other Canadians, FilCans and the Tanuan's clan members have delightfully joined the celebration.
Ably hosted jointly by James Cheng and Margaret Tan , the well- organized celebratory program was certainly an evening of fellowship, fun, laughter, dining and dancing for all the couple's more than 130 guests, punctured by
hellos & speeches,
kodakans & selfies, participatory games of bio-focused quizzes and the couple's revealing personal idiosyncrasies & distinctions. It was indeed a remarkable and memorable milestone of commemorative love, faith, remembrance, hope and promise.
