PIDC Selects A Winner, EMMA ANDRADA is Mrs. Philippines 2016

The Philippine Independence Day Council (PIDC), organized the Mrs. Philippines PIDC pageant as a principle of giving back and making a difference in the community.
Held at Rembrandt Banquet Hall, on Saturday, March 19th, PIDC proudly crowned their new Mrs. Philippines PIDC 2016, Emma Andrada.
Natalia Versoza Hilse, won the
1st Runner-Up trophy followed by Madelyn Duyo, who bagged the
2nd Runner-Up title. Under the Special Award Categories, Nicolette Boloron received both the
Mrs. Photogenic and
Mrs. Congeniality awards while Natalia Versoza Hilse is
Mrs. Charity.
Emma Andrada garnered both the major awards,
Best in Wardrobe and
Best in Talent. Other vying candidates for the Mrs. Philippines PIDC Title were Jacqueline Lee Tayag, represented Richmond Hill, Ontario and Lauren Lamando MacLeod, represented Ajax, Ontario. The winners received the following prizes: Title, Crown, Trophy, Sash, Cash Award and Bouquet of Flowers.
The program flowed so smoothly from the opening to the different wardrobe competitions in Casual Wear, Evening Gown and National Costume to the Talent competition and lastly to the nerve-wrecking part of the Q & A portion. All candidates answered intelligently with poise and grace.
The panel of judges are a pool of 12 distinguished personalities from the community as follows: Dr. Solon Guzman, Carmela "Ting" Pacis, Melchor Galeon, Manolo Arnaldo, Jenifer Camacho, Vince Gutierrez, Chanele Ganancial, Arthur Chan,
Margaret Maye, Jalanshan Manickavasagar, Sol Gombinsky, and Sangiv Emiliyanus. They held the most difficult and important task in selecting the Mrs. Philippines PIDC 2016.
The Tabulators are from the
Association of Filipino Canadian Accountants (AFCA) namely, Imelda Bautista, Estrellita Ortiz, Nimfa Santos and Myra Famero,who delivered an efficient job.
Ably hosted by Scott Dion Brown, Raina Resplandor and
Nikki de Ocampo, managed to run a non-stop spectacular three-hour show. Kudos to the awesome performances of Samantha Gavin, Cheryl Malanum, Scott Dion Brown, Raina Resplandor, Charms, Jenifer Camacho and the Pageant Choreographers. PIDC once again resonated a well-organized and entertaining program to the delight of an energetic and full of enthusiastic audience. The grand ballroom was packed with families and friends, Media partners, Beauties of PIDC Pageant, and notable leaders of the community, who also enjoyed a sumptuous sit-down dinner.

The Mrs. Philippines PIDC is organized as a charity to benefit Gawad Kalinga (GK). It is a charity event to raise funds for the homeless and also an outreach activity to help to contribute to the people in our homeland who are affected by a calamity.
It was indeed a tremendous success, a memorable experience of a lifetime and another feather on the cap of PIDC.
