The Alliance of Philippine Community Organisations Inc. (APCO) held a farewell dinner to thank Anne Jalando-on Louis for her support and encouragement during her tenure as Consul-General in Sydney. The Consul-General was accompanied by her husband Dr. Gerard Joseph Louis. All who attended were treated to a banquet meal at the Jade Crystal Restaurant in the Marconi Club at Bossley Park on the 19th May 2017. Some 30 members helped celebrate the event headed by the APCO Inc. President Pet Storey.

Consul-General Anne was totally overwhelmed by this sign of thanks bestowed upon her. She stated, “I am thankful for the support during my term, and  I am also grateful for the help you have given me. I seek for you to continue in serving the Community, as you and I both have a job in which we do because we love doing it, that is serving one another.”

After the meal was served a tribute of various messages from the President of the Visayan Association of Australia Inc. (VAA) Jhun Salazar and the President of Fil-Oz Liverpool Inc. Cora Bojarski and finally, from the President of APCO Inc. Pet Storey. After a thankful speech, Anne Jalando-on Louis then was presented with some beautiful Australian mementoes, The Consul-General was presented mementos consisting of a set of plates with Australian icons engraved on a center silver plate and embedded on a blue outer Bavarian glass plate with the APCO Logo on them. Her husband, Dr. Gerard Louis was also presented a large plate with the typical Australian Rural Homestead painting on it.

The Consul-General then was given a red rose for each of her year of tenure that is 6 years. Then she was asked to cut the celebratory cake which after the blowing out of the six candles also highlighted with sparklers, at that moment one would think the sprinkler system may be activated, but thankfully it wasn’t.

A surprise visit to help grace and to celebrate the event was the Ms. Classic Global United International Robbie Canner at the invitation of Ms. Global United International Ambassador and Lifetime Queen, Fil-Oz President Cora Bojarski.

Indeed, it was "An Evening with Con Gen Anne Jalando-on Louis" to remember after rendering 6 years of her term of office in Sydney!
