Sept. 1 – 3, Manheim-PA: The 30th edition of the North American Basketball Association Inter City basketball tournament was recently held at Spooky Nok Sports Complex at Manheim, PA last September 1-3, 2017 hosted by New Jersey Kalahi Basketball Organization headed by Kalahi President Lenny Reyes and Central Jersey City Directors Juancho Ciocon, Med Panganiban and Boy Laano.

NABA Commissioner Dr. Ron Damasco welcomed all the city delegations, city directors and NABA officials. He also congratulated everyone for making NABA the biggest and most prestigious basketball tournament in North America along with its 30th foundation. A total of 141 teams from US and Canadian cities competed in this weekend long basketball and volleyball tourney.

Toronto draw the first blood by winning the Best in Uniform and Windsor followed suit with the Ms. NABA title. NABA Commissioner then declared the games open. The games started early Saturday and lasted till Sunday with a punishing double round elimination for each division.

It was a battle of skills and endurance as each team need not to lose twice to avoid elimination. And after all said and done Canadian Cities came out dominant winning 9 out of 16 titles at stake. There were also Canadian cities that came home with multiple trophies in their hands like Ajax who won the Bantam division and was a finalist in both Mosquito and Juniors as well.

New Market won both Juniors and Girls division and was a finalist in Banatam. Montreal took home the Ladies title and was a finalist in Tykes. Toronto was not to be outdone with a win at Mosquito and finalist in Peewee and Ladies Volleyball. Other Canadian Cities which made their presence felt were Markham winning at Peewee,  North York at Tykes and Winnipeg bagging the Juvenile.

Next years edition is to be held at Montreal and its City Director Ed Tupaz updated the NABA leadership about its on going preparation and developments at the directors meeting. Commish Ron Damasco has also awarded the 2019 hosting to New Jersey Husay and 2020 hosting to Ajax. He also welcomed new city members Washington DC and Delaware.
