Filipino Centre Toronto Sets Induction of Executive Council Officers & Board of Directors for 2017-2019

The Filipino Centre Toronto - FCT slates the induction of its Executive Council  Officers and  Board of Directors on April 6, 2018, Friday, 7:00 p.m. at Rembrandt Banquet Hall, # 9390 Progress Avenue, corner Markham Road, Scarborough,  Toronto, Ontario  M1G 3T5.

Invited to grace the event as Inducting Officer and Guest of Honour is Hon. Rosalita Prospero, Consul General of the Philippines - Toronto.

Those to be inducted to office for the 2017-2019 term are:  Executive Council Officers: Mary Ann San Juan- President. & Chief Executive Officer,Theresa Lumanlan, Executive Vice President, Rosalinda Javier, Internal Auditor and  Efren De Villa- Chairman of the Board of Directors. The new sets of officers and directors were elected in November, 2016 in Toronto. Vacancies in the  Board were also filled up recently.

The Filipino Centre Toronto, the 18- year old community- focused organization has been pursuing its mission, vision and goals over the years by leading and sponsoring purposeful and meaningful programs & services.   Along the process, the non- profit  Centre  through its members, volunteers and facilities has been  targeting and benefiting members of the Filipino Canadian and other cultural communities in Toronto and parts of the  Greater Toronto Area, as well.

Amongst its various continuing projects are: health & wellness seminars; elderly well- being research; Filipino Language ( Tagalog- based) learning sessions;  Academic and Homework Tutorials; Cabbagetown community festivity; and tax - preparation workshops.

The scheduled community-wide events include:  Dr. Victoria Santiago Invitational Basketball Tournament on May 18, 19, & 20, 2018; Pistahan Sa Toronto Summer Festival & Santa Cruzan on June  16 & 17, 2018; Dr. Guillermo De Villa Golf Tourney on July 15, 2018; and the Outstanding Student Awards Day in October, 2018.
