Just two weeks last, Shakba Team bagged the grand championship title while Mahid Tago of Shakba earned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award during the recently concluded 1st RSC Inter-Maranao Basketball Tournament held at the Al Yamamah Sports Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Thronged by enthusiastic spectators and attended by various supporting organizations and basketball aficionados, the 1st Ranao Sports Commission (RSC) headed by Chairman Datu Allan Macabangkit has successfully concluded their three-month-long ‘every Friday-Saturday’ basketball games with such an exciting grand finale.

Based on the outcome-sheet provided by RSC to this writer via Alladin Guinar of ANB, an avid supporter of this event, the top four winners among the 10 teams that participated include:   Shakba Team, Champion; Malaigians Warriors, 1st Runner-up; Diwan Lakers, 2nd Runner-up and Maida, Marawi, 3rd Runner-up.  While at the side, special awards were given to:  Mahid Tago of Shakba, Most Valuable Player; Jalal Lao of Diwan Lakers and Jun Bacarat of Maida Marawi, Best Forward; Mahid Tago of Shakba and Ateel of Malaigians Warriors, Best Guard; Habib Pundoma, Best Center; Ivan Sarip, Best Coach; Jeffrey Sultan, Best Manager; Butig, Most Disciplined Team; Maida Marawi Team, Best in Uniform and Diwan Lakers, Sportsmanship Award.

During the entire conference, ANB Telemoney offered their full support as major sponsor of the event headed by Gaffar “GOB” Dimalotang with his committee members: Juniefer Hechanova, Sailanie Salumabao, Junaid Limbao and supervised by Aladdin Guinar of Marketing Department.

Ranao Sports Commission (RSC), a well-respected Filipino non-profit organization chaired by Datu Allan Macabangkit, Chairman and Datu Sambo Bantuas and Vice Chairman & Spokesperson  is truly doing its best to make a remarkable mark to build footprints and comradeship among and between its entire RSC membership and supporters who are mainly OFWs and their family dependents. – (J.
