  14 paintings in varied sizes by Filipino-American Artists EULALIO BUENO SILVA  & Son EULALIO FABIE DE SILVA III are now the Permanent Collection of DePaul University New Hall of the Arts, Letters & Humanities.

The 14 paintings  were acquired by DePaul University from the Silva family in 2011

A well attended reception / presentation of their paintings  including works from other artists was held in January 11, 2012 .

Bueno Silva: “Would like to share this with you. The year of 2011, De Paul University, Chicago, Illinois have acquired 7 (Seven varied sizes) paintings of mine (almost all my Red Table Composition) and also my son Eulalio Fabie Silva, III's 7 (seven varied sizes) paintings as we are both included with the other Selected Artists for the New Building, the Arts, Humanities and Letters adjoining Fine Arts.

As Filipino Artists with my son of Chicago, Illinois are so proud and grateful to be included in the Institution of the Arts in the USA.

Amongst the Artists in Chicago, Illinois, my son and me were the only Filipino Artists given this very prestigious account with the Art Institution of the USA.

I cannot forget how I have struggled as artist-painter having our four Children:  Eulalio III, MJ Silva-Tam, Joanne Silva-Arreola and Patrick. With them, am so grateful, proud and happy and without their support and assistance with my beloved wife Patria  I would have not reached this far with the graces of our Lord. Now, here is the fruit of our destiny, a Legacy of our Family name SILVA/ DE SILVA in the World of the Arts. Mabuhay Philippines”

In 2011 - Asian American Art - Oral History Project of the De Paul University, Chicago, IL have Documented and have included Bueno Silva on the Archive / Book on the History of Midwestern Asian American Artists and Arts Organization.  Kindly visit: the  following links:       http://via.library.depaul.edu/oral_his/  and       http://via.library.depaul.edu/oral_his_gallery/

    I have known Bueno and Fabie for many years and continue to be amazed at their sincere humility while being awash in accolades year over year, the De Paul University Arts & Letters Hall acquisition of their works being just one of the more recent.

    I was disappointed to have missed the 2012 reception at De Paul, where I received my MBA degree, but am proud at the selection that my alma mater made on three counts:
    (1) the father/son tandem are personal friends;

    (2) the recognition by a highly respected institution in both Chicago and the U.S. instills Pinoy pride;

    (3) and most importantly, it further marks what many in the international art circuit has known for years – this father/son tandem has transformative, passionate and always compelling vision to match their enormous God-given talent.

    I have no doubt that Bueno will be hailed as one of the most gifted and globally-acclaimed artist of Filipino descent to ever live and Fabie has the mettle to follow in his footsteps

    I really loved viewing the paintings of Bueno Silva and Eulalio Silva. I would of course, love to see them in person but they are so beautiful and I just recently learned of them through a friend of mine. I am trying my hand at it but am nowhere near the caliber that these guys are.
    Thank you again.

    Upon viewing the art work/paintings of Mr. Bueno Silva, I must admit and say, his work and paintings are truly work of arts that exudes excellence and beauty that only a great artist/painter can create from his vivid imaginations that can trasform into reality of daily living. One of my favorites is the "Candle Vendor", when viewed, it really takes you back on how Filipinos make a living in their home town. The works of Mr. Buena Silva brings the paintings to life. Emotions and sincerity in the paintings can be felt. I highly commend his artistry and talent on a job well done. Indeed, they are masterpieces.

    More power, success, and God's abundant Blessings to all.
