Dolly & George Blessed on their 62nd Wedding Anniversary

Long time residents of Scarborough, George and Dolly Poblete and their children has been very active in helping in the community. They are blessed by six children and fourteen grandchildren.

George and Dolly were active in  the religious communities in Toronto. Even in their octagenarian years, they are actively involved in the Block Rosary Crusade in the GTA (36 years), many other Block Rosary movements, Rosary Apostolate in the Schools (20 years) and their Church ministries. George and Dolores are also Grand Cross Members of the Holy Sepulchre, an 11th century Papal Order, who financially support maintain Christianity in the Holy Land, These Filipiino-Canadians holds the highest ranks (KGCHS & LGCHS) in the Order in Canada. Dolores is also a member of the Third  Order of the Carmelite (OCDS) in the Scarborough Community.

They find so much satisfaction in serving the community, after retirement from their work.

 Sir George is a recipient of many outstanding awards in the community. In 1974, he was awarded as one of the ten Outstanding Filipino-Canadian in the engineering and Management fields.; Has build better youth in the community (through Judo, where Sensei George is a well respected Judoka, a Godan, 5th Degree Black Belt) for over forty years. and was awarded  the Toronto Volunteer of the year in the Year of Volunteers in 2000; a recipient of the Queen's  Jubilee medal for his community work (2004) ; the only Fil-Canadian recipient of the Philippine Presidential (2014) Pro-Patria Medal in North America for his extensive community in the Philippines and Canada.; and the only Fil-Canadian recipient of the QSMV (Queen's Sovereign Medal for Volunteers) in 2017.He has helped in the church, community, families, youth and seniors, by his active participation in the Knights of Columbus (PGK, FDD, PFN and Commander for Honor Guards) and in Civic work through the Knights of Rizal (KGCR. Grand Cross Medal), an international civic organization, whose members  emulate the good works of Philippine National Hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal, and conducts Rizal projects worldwide.

Sir George  has been a  great asset to Canada. Together with his wife Dolly, they enjoyed their untiring service to the community.
