If you’re fed up with staring at yet another Prada bag, in Hong Kong there are places to escape to that are devoid of concrete slabs and airconditioning. And you don’t even have to go very far, because Hong Kong is only 1,078 square kilometers, comprising Hong Kong Island (77.5 square kilometres); Kowloon (45.5 square kilometres); and the New Territories, including 235 outlying islands (955 square kilometres).
With a population of over 7 million, Hong Kong at some point had the most densely populated areas in the world, especially that the country is hilly to mountainous, with steep slopes and natural harbours. This, of course, leaves the outlying islands with their inhabitable but beautiful terrain untouched.
