PHL AMBASSADOR LEADS CONSULAR MISSION AND OATH-TAKING CEREMONY OF FILIPINO COMMUNITY LEADERS IN LESOTHO
05 October 2015 - The Philippine Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa, led by Philippine Ambassador Joseph Gerard B. Angeles, was warmly welcomed by the officers and members of the Proud Organization of Filipinos in Lesotho (PROFILE), when it conducted a consular outreach in Maseru, the country’s capital, from September 26 to 28.
The Embassy team was able to provide passport extension and renewal services, document legalization service and register new overseas absentee voters.
The oath-taking of the newly-elected officials of PROFILE was also held during the Embassy’s outreach. Ambassador Angeles administered the oath-taking ceremony of the new set of PROFILE officials namely, Ms. Loida Castro (President), Ms. Jenny Rose San Diego (Vice-President), Ms. Carol Castro (Secretary) and Ms. Evangeline Almonte (Treasurer).
The Philippine Embassy in Pretoria regularly conducts consular missions in the nine countries under its jurisdiction - South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Zimbabwe and Zambia. There are a total of approximately 335 Filipinos residing in Lesotho.

CONSULAR MISSION IN DURBAN
25 August 2015 – The Philippine Embassy in Pretoria conducted a consular mission on August 15 in Durban, the major city of South Africa’s Kwazulu-Natal province. The Embassy team was warmly welcomed by the Philippine Honorary Consul in Durban Akash Singh, and by the members of the Filipino community in Durban. The Embassy team was able to provide passport renewal and passport extension services to the Filipino community.
The Philippine Embassy in Pretoria regularly conducts consular missions across South Africa in areas where Filipinos are concentrated, such as Durban and Cape Town, as well as in the other eight countries under its jurisdiction: Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Swaziland, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Of the estimated 1000 Filipinos in South Africa, approximately 116 Filipinos reside in Durban and nearby areas.
