Filipino Catholic Mission in Toronto holds Settlement and Integration Seminar

The Archdiocesan Filipino Catholic Mission (AFCM) in Toronto has conducted a full-day information session for Filipino newcomers in the Greater Toronto Area aimed at their proper settlement and integration into the Canadian society.
Led by the Social Ministry of the AFCM under Jeanette Rosales, the information session was delivered jointly with program delivery partners, among others, the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto, the Philippine Overseas Labor Office, the Catholic Community Services of York Region (CCYSR), Parkdale Intercultural Association (PIA) and Western Union.
Topics covered during the information seminar were consular services provided to Filipino citizens by the Philippine diplomatic mission in Toronto, settlement and integration services offered by both the CCYSR, PIA, government agencies and other non-profit organizations catering to concerns, issues and other matters affecting newcomers. Safety and compliance concerns on supporting family back home were also covered.
The AFCM is headed by the Rev. Fr. Ben Ebcas, Jr. and housed at the Our Lady of Assumption (OLA) Church, 2565 Bathurst St., in midtown Toronto. Fr. Ebcas is also the Pastor of OLA.
