Island hopping featured on Banag-Banag’s 21st Anniversary

Banag-Banag Incorporated celebrated their 21st Anniversary and featured the Island Hopping: Holiday in the Philippines, a cultural and fund-raising event last September 5 at Rootyhill RSL, Rootyhill.
“This year is visit Philippines year 2015, it is our APEC year too as we have been hosting a lot of APEC events this year, but more than anything there’s a lot of developments going in recently there, Ms. Jones explained further.
“I invite the diving enthusiasts to come to the country, amateur surfing in Pagudpud Northern Ilocus, advanced surfing in Siargao or even shark and dolphin sightings in Malapascua Island, or Oslob of Tanay area, Cebu.
Sorsogon of the Bicol region is where they first sighted the whale sharks called Butandings, there you can actually swim with them.
“Palawan with a lot of islands in itself , places like Bohol with its history and culture, we have a lot of churches you can enjoy during a day tour of the Old Manila.
Because we are a catholic nation there is a lot of our festivals throughout the year, a festival each month, some are just bigger than others like Cebu’s Sinulog in January, the Kadayawan in Davao, Pahiyas in Lucban, Quezon Dinagyang and , Ati-atihan of Aklan and a lot of festivals that goes on.
The Philippines has a lot of UNESCO world heritage sites: we have the underground river in Palawan, Vigan classified as one of the wonder cities of the world which came up this year, Banaue rice terraces
“When you look at the destination from the North all the way down to the Southern part of the country , there’s something for everyone in the Philippines.
