Twenty Four deserving Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship (LSE) students were awarded certificates at a ceremony on 13 September. at the Aula Magna of the CPIA (Centro Provinciale Istruzione Adulti) in Rome.
Dr. Mario Villaverde, Associate Dean of Ateneo University School of Government, came to give the awards. He was assisted by Consul General Leila Lora Santos of the Philippine Embassy, Welfare Officer Loreta Vergara of OWWA and Maris Gavino, President of Assoc. Pilipinas OFSPES, the LSE coordinator.
Dr. Villaverde’s keynote address described the expansion of the LSE that started in Rome 7 years back in 2008. The latest addition of graduates in Rome and Milan, whose students will have their turn to graduate on 20 September, would have totaled over 1,000 graduates since inception. Because of the great demand for the Program, Ateneo pledges to continue the Program where there are requests abroad and in the Philippines. This critical mass that have been motivated to have a change, improve and transform their lives for the better is a resource and wealth for the Philippines and a pride to the host country.
As Fr. Gregory Maria Adolfo said in his invocation “I thank you God that You have blessed me with the opportunity to be in business for myself and I declare and decree that this year will be a multi-million dollar, debt-free, breakthrough year for God-believing and God-loving entrepreneurs around the world.”
The list for the next LSE program is now open and Pilipinas OFSPES is accepting applications for interested participants.
