NYOMY OBCEMEA-FROM ATHLETE TO STAGE PAGEANT

Nyomy Obcemea, a Fil-Am, joined the recently concluded Binibining Pilipinas USA 2015 and was chosen as one of the 10 finalists and awarded the Best in National Costume competition.

An avid golf player, Nyomy, on her first tournament posted a score of 42 and continued to progress to become the number one player of her team. After the first season she was selected as a member of the All-Region Team and the Second All-State team and awarded as the MVP.  During her senior year her coach ranked her as their number one player and as the season progressed Nyomy was again became MVP for two consecutive years. She was selected as member of All-Region team for the second time and landed a spot on the First All-State team.

During the summer of 2009 she played in the Utah Junior Golf Association. As the season continued Nyomy showed tremendous improvement and maturity in the game. Playing her first tournament as junior golfer in St George she caught the eyes of Jeff Smith, coach of Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. Nyomy was awarded a full ride scholarship and a spot on the Women Golf Team.  

In August 2013, Nyomi Obcemea placed 1st runner up in Miss United nations USA 2013 Pegeantry held in Salt lake City-Utah. She also placed as Best in Evening Gown .
Her parents are Rusty and Lita Obcemea both are originally from Mabalacat Pampanga, Philippines.
