Samahang Pilipino Sa Holland (SPH) Valentines Party 2019 attracts a multitude of crowd

Crowds of guests in their best party attire fill up the Business Class FC Dordrect ready to spend the night with their loved ones and friends dancing and having fun all night long. The most awaited shindig held at the Business Class FC Dordrect last February 2 is the perfect way to break the boredom of the cold and dark winter months.



This is Samahang Pilipino sa Holland’s  (SPH ) second Valentines Party and it was made extra special by the presence of our well-loved Philippine Ambassador to the Netherlands Honorable Jaime Victor Ledda. He was so impressed and overwhelmed by the projects done by SPH back home in a span of less than a year since this organization was formed. Very remarkable job.

 Every party organized by SPH is for the benefit of the different Elementary Schools in the remote areas of the Philippines.  Worth taking note is that in the very isolated parts of our country, people are living below the poverty line. Although they are happy and contented with what little they have, sending their children to school and providing them with even the basic things they need in school, is for some, next to impossible.  This is the painful fact that encourages SPH to act.  They provided school children with school bags, slippers, and all school paraphernalia. If you check the SAMAHANG PILIPINO SA HOLLAND  facebook you will be astonished as you see the happy faces of the innocent children benefited from their work. It is priceless.

And this help is due to the support of the Filipino as well as Dutch communities in the Netherlands who believe in their cause – Help our less fortunate children go to school.



Valentines day celebration goes back to the middle ages when St. Valentine of Terni , a physician and priest was beaten, stoned and beheaded. His only crime was marrying Christian couples! At a twist of faith, he was declared a Patron Saint and February 14 was from then on declared Valentines day, a day of love. As we know it today Valentines day is associated with red flowers and chocolates. It is a day expressing love, affection and caring for each other.



An evening celebrating the day of the hearts. Dancing to the greatest music hits of all time, the dancefloor was bursting with adorable ladies, elegantly dressed men, and children in their party dresses having the best times of their lives. There was hugging…...laughing…...giggling……dancing…….There was pure love in the air that night. You can feel and see it in everybody’s eyes. That is the power of this four-letter word called LOVE -and it is irresistibly contagious!







Highlighting the party was the proclamation of the SPH Ms. Valentine and Mr. Valentine 2019. An extremely daunting task was choosing the Ms. Valentine among the so many beautifully red dressed women in the evening. The judges’ main criteria is creativity and uniqueness topped with the way she portray herself. After careful scrutiny, the winner was finally announced – the title Ms. Valentine 2019 was given to the graceful Red Angel Polder who was enchanting in her self-designed and sewed red dress.  On the other hand, selecting Mr. Valentine 2019 among three guys was. much easier. The crowd did the judging and unanimously chose Arnold Paco as Mr. Valentine 2019.











On behalf of Samahang Pilipino sa Holland allow me to once again thank our very special guest, The Philippine Ambassador to The Netherlands his Excellency Jaime Ledda and Mrs. Ledda, The Philippine Embassy in the Hague, all the guests, sponsors and everybody who in one way or another helped in making the Valentines Party a great success. We are so grateful of your undying support and so are the children that needs our help.

The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention !
