NYPAA to hold Winter Basketball House League Program at Antibes Community Centre

Both programs are to be held at Antibes C.C. located at 140 Antibes Drive, North York, Toronto (Bathurst Street north Finch Avenue West).  Clinic is first come-first served and in-person registration starts on December 4, 2015 from 7 PM to 9 PM at the lower level of the Community Centre.  Gym space is limited to 50 registered participants per age group Scheduled gym times are: 6 PM – 8 PM for 11 years old & under and 8 PM – 10 PM for 14 years old and under.

The Basketball Clinic, which is offered free, will introduce and involve youth participants to basics of playing basketball, teamwork, how to dribble, pass, shoot & handle the ball. For the House League Youth Competition however, there is a registration fee that will cover costs for a top jersey and a trophy or medal for each participating player.

NYPAA is composed of community volunteers and its Youth program is conducted by Sports Commissioners Renato Columbano & Mark Stevens Victoria and assisted by Youth & Sports Development Coordinators: Victor Montero, Jess Diwa, Jimi Fernandez, Christian Lalicon and Homer Obille.  The 16 years old registered not-for-profit organization with Ontario Corporation Number 1783240 is headed by NYPAA President Sharonne Columbano and supported by Mylene Escalona, Joanne Ligsay, Brenda Agoncillo, Arlyn Perez, Tina Fernandez, Tim Sinclair and NYPAA founders: Ed Sotto, Vilma Tahsin, Roger Tarca and Bob San Juan.

North York Pinoy Athletic Association's main objective is to enhance the traditional Filipino values of respect, trust and fellowship through sports. Likewise, the Association aims to promote athletic activities as a more productive and fun filled recreational time for families including parents and their children, relatives and friends within the perspective of a truly Filipino-Canadian community.
