Yes.Randy “Randolf”Bucao is running for Councillor of Ward 10-York Centre in the City of Toronto for the upcoming Fall municipal elections. He had just filed his candidacy on March 3, 2014.
But who is really Randy Bucao?
A native of Talisay, Cebu, Randy and his family came to Canada in 1994. With a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the East -Manila , he has worked in the IT industry for solid 20 years in Toronto as a network specialist and small-business entrepreneur.

Silayan Filipino Community Centre and the
Toronto Golden Vision Lions Club. For straight 5 years, he has been the Chair of
Catholic School Advisory Council (CSAC) of St. Jogues Catholic School, and was elected as Catholic Parent Involvement Committee )CPIC) representative of Ward 11 on which he was elected as Vice-Chair of the Toronto Catholic District School Board's CPIC. Randy is the first Filipino in Toronto who was elected in CPIC Ward 11 and the city-wide CPIC as its Vice-Chair.
Happily married to Zenalyn Hechanova of General Santos City and a father of 2 school-aged daughters, Randy is a founding member of
Filipino Canadian Parents Association in Catholic Education (FCPACE), and is helping towards the appointment of a Filipino Advisory Committee at the Toronto Catholic education system.
Being a former college instructor in Manila, he is also a member of the
Philippine Teachers Association-Canada (PTAC).

Whenever given the opportunity to serve, Randy plans to advocate and work towards transformation concerns of Ward 10 residents in land transfer tax, public transit, public safety, social services & development, public parks enhancement, sustainable environment, and the cost- efficient delivery of vital municipal services, as well.
Panahon na! Randy would love to be the voice for all
Pinoys and other ethnic & diverse residents in Ward 10-York Centre. Historically, no candidate of Filipino heritage has come up to the plate of recent memory and run for the Toronto council except two, but in the Niagara by-the-Lake and Markham councils.
