FILCOM SUMMER SPORTSFEST 2014 in MALTA

On the 21st of September 2014, the second FIL-COM CUP SPORTSFEST culminated at the ST. MARTIN’S GYM in NAXXAR, MALTA after 11 gruelling week-ends which started on the 13th of July 2014. It was well attended and well-applauded as a surprise winner emerged from the well-played game between two new Basketball teams KABOOM and BATANGUENO over the more established teams, GSM and MALTA BROTHERS.
The champion ,KABOOM, was awarded the FIL-COM CUP, aside from their winner’s trophy and a cash prize of 50 Euros. Second were the Batangas Team, who garnered the First Runner-up trophy and a cash prize of 25 euros, followed by Malta Brothers and GSM.
Highest pointer was Jay Gentilizo of GSM, MVP -Anthony Dayap of KABOOM, Rookie of the Year- newcomer James Bacani of Batangas Team, and the Magic 5 are: Jay Gentilizo of GSM, Frandel Vicente OF Malta Brothers, Lemuel Manlucot of KABOOM, Rodel Magnaye of Batnagas team and Brian Roy of MALTA ACES.
While in the Volleyball Games, the winning team as last year is once again Dreambusterz, who also received 50 Euros cash prize aside from the Champions Trophy. Next are the Spikers, followed by GSM girls and Vangiitanz.

Most of all, the Sportsfest would not have even started at all if not for the great help and assistance of Mr. Jimmy Dacayanan, founder of FIL-COM and for always, its guiding spirit as well as the generosity of the referees to share their know-how and talents, Nercely Miranda for Volleyball, Antonio Pandes, Kermit Avaricio II, and Juvel Galloza for Basketball.
The FIL-COM President, Veronica Cadag-Ugates, all officers and committees extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone and if there had been omissions, the hope that you will extend your understanding and continued support.
