TORONTO -- Sole proprietors learned how to create marketing plans and optimize their web pages and Google + business pages during the Ontario Solopreneurs Network’s
Meet & Learn Saturday held on Sept. 20, at the North York Central Library, at 5120 Yonge St., Toronto, ON.
Ken Wells, internet marketer and lead generation expert of IED Web Marketing, stressed that small business owners must keep in mind their marketing plans when they are “creating their web pages, communicating on social media, meeting with clients, networking, working on their elevator pitches, or conducting phone consultations.” Wells was the key presenter during the first meet up of the OSN.
He also emphasized the importance of landing on the first page of Google since 95 percent of internet users rarely browse beyond the first page of the search engine. All web pages in a website must be optimized through Search Engine Optimization (SEO) by using well-researched keywords, and through Search Engine Marketing (SEM) by using backlinks from reputable websites, he added.
The Solopreneurs also had the opportunity to say their elevator pitches and network with each other.
Diona Joyce, of Kanto by Tita Flips, provided the refreshments and Odette Montelibano, of Digital Ink Group, organized the meet up.
Bringing small businesses together in a friendly environment where they can network and build stronger relationships is Montelibano’s primary objective for OSN and the meet up. It fulfills her business principle to deliver web content that builds connections. OSN is a network created on June, 2014 using Facebook groups where sole proprietors can engage, empower and support each other while pursuing the successes of their own business ventures. The group can be accessed at www.facebook.com/groups/Ontario.Solopreneurs.Network. Membership is open to sole proprietors residing in Ontario who share the same vision of empowerment and relationship building.
Having a seasoned presenter like Wells, also a member of OSN, was an added value to the meet up.
Attendees included Wendy Gazsi of Wendy’s World of Care, David Grossman of AllTalkTV, Aileen Susada of Asian Cleaning Services, Jana Heinson of JResh Worldpointe, Cosette Hinojales, sales consultant for Silpada and jewelry designer, Noime Manalo, Marilou Garcia Zaragoza and Romy Zaragoza, Wells and Montelibano.*
