MY other interest besides writing is reading. Reading and writing, in my opinion, supplement each other. I believe that to be a good writer, you should be an avid reader. To be a good writer, you need a lot of knowledge, and there is no better way to obtain knowledge than through reading.

Rene Q. Calalang: Ipinanganak noong Octubre 28, 1947 sa Look 1st Malolos, Bulacan. Nagtapos nang mababang paaralan sa Barasoain Memorial Elementary School noong 1960. Nagtapos nang mataas na paaralan sa Marcelo H del Pilar High School noong 1964. Nagtapos ng Apprentice Program sa Machine shop sa US Naval Ship Repair Facility sa Subic Bay noong 1971. Nag-migrate sa Canada noong 1971. Nagtapos ng Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering sa Ryerson Polytechnical Institute noong 1980. Sa kasalukuyan ay pumapasok sa Bombardier Aerospace Company, de Havilland Division sa Toronto, Canada bilang Engineering Analyst.

Kasal kay Estrellita Obtinario ng Bani, Pangasinan. Sila ay may tatlong anak.
